Conrad Murray

Before noon local time today Drug Enforcement Officers executed a warrant to search the Houston offices of Conrad Murray, the doctor at the centre of an investigation into the death of Michael Jackson.

Dr Murray was at Mr Jackson’s side when he died, he was the one who phoned the paramedics and attempted CPR.

The attorney representing Dr Murray said to the BBC:  “It came as a surprise to us and the attorneys.”

DEA spokesperson Violet Szeleczky said:

“We did not raid it.  What this is is the LAPD have an investigation and they came to the DEA, the Drug Enforcement Agency, and they asked us to help them effect a state search warrant here.”

The Los Angeles Police Department have been slow to react to Mr Jackson’s death.  Mr Murray was questioned at the scene and then dismissed.  It was only later that the police approached him again for more information on the ever growing list of drugs that Mr Murray had prescribed to Mr  Jackson.
